Amodei Statement on the Passing of Paul Laxalt

Carson City, Nev. – Congressman Mark Amodei (NV-02) today released the following statement mourning the passing of the Honorable Paul Laxalt, a valued public servant, fellow lawyer, Carson High alum, and dear friend:

“I’m deeply saddened to learn of Paul’s passing. As a dedicated public servant, who served our country for more than four decades, both as an elected official and in the U.S. Army, Paul led a remarkable life and his legacy is certainly something we can all learn from. I consider myself extremely fortunate for the opportunity to learn directly from Paul while interning for him in the U.S. Senate. As a young intern on Capitol Hill, I looked up to Paul as an example of character, and respected his determination to always do right by the Nevadans he served. As a valued leader on behalf of our state, it was an incredible honor when he swore me into the Nevada Bar. This is a great loss for Nevada and my thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.”
