• Of the more than 12,000 helicopters operating in Vietnam, more than 5,000 were destroyed by combat or accidents.
• Helicopters were used in more than 850,000 medical evacuation missions conducted during that war, and were responsible for boosting survival rates for the wounded to as high as 99 percent.

Rep. Mark Amodei, R-Nev., told the Board of Supervisors on Thursday to contact him with any concerns Carson City has with federal legislation.
Amodei updated the board on work in Washington, D.C., including a dozen appropriations bills and legislation to make technical corrections to existing Nevada lands bills.

In the wake of a deadly school shooting in Florida, Rep. Mark Amodei sent the 11 school superintendents in his district an FBI quick reference guide on school shooters.
Amodei said that idea came to him after officials from Bishop Manogue Catholic High School in Reno asked his office for information that might be helpful with regard to school safety.
