With the August district work period underway, I have been busy traveling across the state, spending time talking with Nevadans, listening to their concerns, and learning how I can best serve their needs.
I’ve been fortunate enough to tour local businesses and facilities like the Hawthorne Army Depot and speak at meetings like the Las Vegas Chamber breakfast to discuss issues that are impacting our industries here in Nevada. I’ve also taken time to meet with Nevada State BLM Director John Ruhs, the Carson City BLM District Office, the Mineral County Commissioners, and the Reno City Council.
Finally, I traveled to Winnemucca to attend the recent memorial service for Jacob O’Malley and Will Hawkins, the Winnemucca firefighters who tragically lost their lives returning home from duty in July. Nevada is eternally grateful for their service and my thoughts go out to their families.
I look forward to meeting with many more of you as I make my way around the state.
