I recently traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico to visit with local officials regarding the city's connection to Northern Nevada. Some of the highlights from my trip included meetings with Consul General Tanya C. Anderson, Mexican immigration officials, and additional staff at the U.S. Consulate, as well as a meeting with Volaris Airlines to better understand the immigration and business issues facing the area in relation to Nevada. I also had the opportunity to learn more about the population of Guadalajara and its connection to constituents in CD-2. I will continue working to improve customs and border processing times and expand the number of direct flights from Reno to Guadalajara and other international cities.

I also recently spent time in both Reno and Carson, visiting with local businesses, discussing the work I’m doing in Washington, and gaining their input.
Below are some highlights from my travels in Nevada:
Reno Chamber of Commerce
Small businesses employ nearly half of our nation’s private workforce. To ensure these key drivers of economic development can continue to succeed, we must focus on pro-growth policies that encourage job creators to invest in their employees and increase productivity. I was honored to receive the ‘Spirit of Enterprise’ Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and also spend time with the individuals who are truly the backbone of our economy. Thank you for having me.
Carson City Chamber Breakfast
Thank you to the Carson City Chamber for inviting me to provide an update on the work I’m doing in Washington. I received a number of great questions and was able to gain insight about the issues that are important to their members and the community.
