WASHINGTON, D.C.– Congressman Mark Amodei (NV-02) today released the following statement after the President signed into law H.J.Res.31, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2019, legislation that will secure our southern border, and fund the remaining seven appropriations bills – Agriculture, Commerce-Justice-Science, Financial Services, Homeland Security, Interior, State-Foreign Operations, and Transportation-Housing & Urban Development – through the end of the Fiscal Year.

“We must realize the reality of our current situation," said Rep. Amodei. “With a divided Congress, there is never going to be a silver bullet fix that appeases all sides. I voted in favor of this legislation because we should not let perfect be the enemy of good, especially when it comes down to funding the remaining 20 percent of our federal government.

“While there is still more work to be done when it comes to addressing the crisis at our southern border, this legislation continues the precedent set last year in strengthening our ability to protect our homeland. I fully support the President using all other tools necessary to secure our Southwest border, and I look forward to assisting in any way I can.”
