Congressional Art Competition

CD-2’s 2021 Congressional Art Competition Winner

Congratulations to Reno’s Savanna Guidas for winning CD-2’s 2021 Congressional Art Competition! It was a pleasure to meet Savanna, her mother, and her teacher in my Reno office to learn more about Savanna's artwork, “Drop in Nevada”, which showcases her signature spirals and hearts that are hidden within the drawing. Savanna’s winning piece will now be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year. Congratulations Savanna on a job well done and thank you to the record number of talented young artists who participated in this year’s competition. I commend all of you on your outstanding work!

Congressional Art Competition Rules & Important Dates

Each spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition, known as the Congressional Art Competition, to recognize and encourage artistic talent in each congressional district of our nation. I’m currently accepting submissions for 2021. Interested students should submit their artwork to my Reno office. Deadlines to follow.

The winner will be the recipient of two round-trip tickets to D.C. to attend the Congressional Art Competition winners' reception in late June. Additionally, their artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year. I strongly encourage all interested high school students to submit their artwork.
